My favorite quotes from book:
Year Published: TreasureLine Publishing; 2 edition (April 12, 2012)
Genres: Christian Fiction Romance
Characters in book: Jessi & Mark Jenson, Ethan, Olivia, Merry, Julia and Chaplin Bob
(Info from back of book) Jessi hung up the phone. That was the fifth time she tried calling home with no answer. She had just started eating lunch when she remembered she had forgotten to call home. It was something she would never forgive herself for. It wasn’t until lunchtime that Jessi remembered to call home. No answer. She tried calling several times while she ate her lunch. Still no answer. She closed her eyes and rested her arms and head on her desk. She breathed deeply, wishing she had remembered to call earlier.
Until Forever is a story of a young family that is torn apart by the devastating effects of alcoholism. Can healing take place in a relationship when an unforgivable act is committed? Will Jessi's pain and Mark's guilt keep them apart forever, or will unforeseen circumstances bind them together?
Jessi & Mark Jenson, like any married couple, have their problems! However, what started out as a problem, ends in a tragedy, and sends one running to God & the other running from God! As the couple grows further & further apart, one blaming the other, can God bring this couple to a place of forgiveness & allow the healing to begin?
Take a journey with Jessi & Mark and the unpredictable Aunt Merry as they each try to understand & grasp the love of God & his plan for their lives. Each one discovers that through tragedy that there is forgiveness and a God that loves us unconditionally! Each character works through their issues of trust, as they let go of their lives and allow God to intervene.
My Thoughts & Comments: I really enjoyed this story. This is the first time I’ve read anything by this author. She makes the characters seem like your next door neighbors. A vivid description of the scenery, makes you feel at times like you are right there. I am always searching for Christian authors that don’t push the envelope! Looking for those that won't give the audience a thrill, while degrading God. I was pleasantly surprised that Darlene did not compromise her writing and let the reader experience God through her characters. I could tell while reading this book, that she is not ashamed of Jesus Christ or her relationship with Him. Thank you Darlene, for writing a great story about a family torn apart that only God could heal.
Note: This book review only reflects my opinions and thoughts! In writing these book reviews, it is my desire to help others find stories that have not been compromised by using profanity, explicit sexual scenes or violence. I endeavor to share with others what I liked about these books & why I would recommend them. I really enjoyed “Until Forever” and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a good story about forgiveness and God’s restoration! Also, this being the author’s first book, kudos to you, you did a great job! I did not receive this book through a book blogging program.
