Isn’t it true that we long to see the extraordinary, experience the extraordinary, do the extraordinary? Yet, so often we settle for mediocrity when greatness is within our grasp. Why are we drawn to stories of heroic triumph over seemingly impossible circumstances? In our fascination with adventure movies, superheroes, and tales of incredible human feats, do we reveal an inherent desire for something larger and greater in life? Maybe what we think is a need to escape or be entertained is actually a God inspired longing…for the extraordinary.
Best-selling author John Bevere reveals how all of us were “meant for more,” extraordinarily created and intended for a life that is anything but ordinary. Here is the roadmap for your journey of transformation. You are marked for a life that far surpasses the usual definitions of success or fulfillment. Isn’t it time to pursue your extraordinary life? From the Hardcover edition.
My Overview: In the beginning of the book Extraordinary, the author, John Bevere, uses the bible verse 1 Corinthians 2:9 “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him! The author uses this bible verse to paint a picture for us of what an extraordinary life looks like. The book has 17 chapters, starting with the chapter entitled Extraordinary & ending with chapter 17 entitled God's Imperial Rule! Each chapter builds on the last & the author even urges you not to skim through material or skip over it. When each chapter ends the author follows up with reflections for an extraordinary journey, by asking you questions and to reflect on what you've just read. The author also shares his personal experiences and how he has learned to access God's grace! He shares a shocking story with us about a man he meets early one morning while walking on the beach. You'll have to read the book to find out what he discovered & how he handled the situation.
My Thoughts & Comments: John Bevere's book Extraordinary; is the most refreshing, truthful Christian book, that I have read on living an extraordinary life! I have read many of John's books (The Bait of Satan, Breaking Intimidation, Driven by Eternity, Affabel, Under Cover, Fear of the Lord, Enemy Access Denied, Honor's Reward, Rescued, Thus Saith The Lord, & How to Respond When You Feel Mistreated,). John is consistent with the truth and staying focused on God's plan and purpose for your life! As I read this book, I discovered that God not only desires for us to live extraordinarily, but He has also equipped us to do so! God will never tell us to do something without giving us the tools to get the job done! If we can understand how to access God's grace for every part of our lives, we are well on our way to living that extraordinary life! God's plan for us is that we will accomplish all that He has for us & the only way we can do that is through His grace!
In this book the author tells us how to live an extraordinary life! He also explains why many Christians are not finding that extraordinary life that God has intended for them! Grace has been used as the "big cover up"! Many who are in the church today are using it to live a life contrary to the word of God! He explains that if we, the Body of Christ, are going to live an extraordinary life, we must make sure that we understand how to do this.
Right from the beginning of this book I was drawn in! Every book that I have read by John Bevere uses the word of God & does not dance around the truth or use New Agey terms! He gives it to you straight & if you believe the word of God then you will heed the word of God! Thank you, John, for not wavering or compromising the word of God! Point blank, I loved it!
